IMAGES THAT

look how they felt

Committed to photographing enchanting, genuine images

Photographing unobtrusively, the photographs document the beauty of your wedding experience. Candids that capture fleeting emotions, environments that ground the images in a time and place, portraits that speak to the tradition of wedding photography while evoking individual personality, and details that reveal your personal style and settings that you've worked to craft with so much beauty.

THE PROCESS

initial consult

Our first step is to have a phone or video call where I can learn more about your wedding and who you are as a couple. What's most important to you about your wedding? What types of photographs do you connect with? I'll also answer any questions you might have about my style, approach, and process.

PLANNING

People usually book with me 10-18 months in advance. During that time I'll be your resource for any photography ideas and questions. Most clients are working with a full-service wedding planner, who I work with to coordinate the photography aspects of your wedding. One to three months before your wedding, we'll have a detailed planning discussion. I'll work with your planner and advise you on elements that will ensure you have an effortless photography experience and images you'll love.

YOUR WEDDING DAY

On your wedding day, you can count on me to be a calm, reassuring presence who will inspire confidence in all aspects of your photography. I understand that how people feel while being photographed is just as important as the finished photos.

YOUR PHOTOS

I know that you'll be looking forward to seeing your photos, so within 10 days I'll send you a few sneak previews. Four to six weeks after your wedding, all your photos will be posted in an online gallery that you can easily share with friends. You'll also be able to download your photos and make heirloom quality prints and albums from there.

Frequently asked questions

HOW DO WE BOOK YOU?

Booking is easy and requires a signed online contract and deposit. Once we have those two items completed, I save your date and your photography is booked. Because I receive multiple inquiries every day, I can only hold dates with a signed contract and deposit.

WHAT IF WE'RE NOT GREAT WITH POSING?

Most clients start off by telling me that being photographed is something they're a little nervous about. I get it! If you've never been professionally photographed, you might doubt your ability to look great in photos. That's what I'm here for.

Weddings are a transformative experience. They may not actually change anything about you (since most people having a wedding are already in a "marriage"), but they can and do evolve how you see yourself. The photographs are an important aspect of this transformation.

DO YOU USE FILM OR DIGITAL?

I use mostly digital cameras with large sensors. Some of the cameras are medium format. Because of medium format's size, weight, and expense, these cameras are less commonly used by wedding photographers. Their ability to capture an incredible amount of detail, soft highlights, and nuanced shadows often causes people mistake the images for film. Depending on the environment – and to keep things interesting for myself – I do sometimes also use classic film cameras with Kodak and Ilford film stocks. I even have a refrigerator entirely devoted to film storage! If film is something you'd like included in your wedding, just let me know.

DO YOU TRAVEL?

Based in southern New England, I've photographed couples in California, Florida, Ireland, Paris, New York, and throughout New England. I am available for a limited number of destination weddings each year.
