This is the photo story of Julia and Ryan’s Colonnade Hotel wedding. Julia and Ryan were recently married at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Boston. Their ceremony took place in the adjoining Leslie Lindsey Memorial Chapel, which is one of the prettiest churches or chapels in which I’ve photographed. Before the ceremony, the officiant told a little bit of the Chapel’s history: how it was dedicated by the parents of a bride who after being married in 1915 at Emmanuel Church, had perished on her honeymoon with her husband a few days later on the Lusitania. The Chapel is what is referred to as a “lady chapel.” All of the saints and figures behind the altar are women.
Julia and Ryan’s wedding took place on Boston Pride day. With Newbury St. cordoned off, after the ceremony we had free reign to just walk out of the church and down the middle of Newbury St. with their close family and wedding party. After group portraits in the Public Garden, Julia and Ryan and I took a walk through their neighborhood of Beacon Hill, and then met everyone back at the Colonnade Hotel for cocktails and reception.
