I loved working with Alissa and Shaun for their Wychmere Beach Club wedding. While Alissa got ready at the Chatham Bars Inn, Shaun got ready at his family’s house in Chatham. Their ceremony took place at the Holy Redeemer Church, which is right next to the Inn. We had been there photographing a Chatham Bars Inn wedding two weeks before! After their ceremony we all hopped on a trolley to Wychmere Beach Club in Harwich Port, stopping along the way to take group portraits by the harbor.
Alissa is a fan of black and white photography, so you’ll see many more black and white images in this post – particularly with the dancing shots at the end. Unlike how most digital photography is shot in color and then made into black and white, I actually photographed these as black and white. That is, they were not photographed as color and then converted. Shooting in black and white requires a different way of seeing. It’s nice to be in that “shadows and light” mindset as you’re photographing.

Wychmere Beach Club Wedding
I’ve photographed many times at Longwood Events venues such as Belle Mer and the State Room. This was my first time photographing a wedding at Longwood’s Wychmere. I’m very happy to be returning to this venue next year, when I photograph another fall wedding at Wychmere.
